Sister Cities International Quepos is a non-profit citizen diplomacy network dedicated to creating and strengthening partnerships between Quepos and similar jurisdictions abroad in an effort to increase global cooperation on many levels.

Goals
Sister Cities International is a network that creates and strengthens partnerships between U.S. and international communities. With the aid of Quepos’ Sister Cities, including Ft. Lauderdale, we strive to build relationships at a municipal level, in an effort to promote cultural understanding, social awareness and stimulate economic development.

SCI Quepos is a leader for local community development and volunteer action. We motivate and empower private citizens, municipal officials and business leaders to learn from their SCI counterpart.

• Gain Experience: Learn what makes Quepos’ Sister City, Fort Lauderdale, a successful city by sending a delegation of Quepos Municipal Leaders to Fort Lauderdale to meet with counterparts to enhance knowledge and experience. Also, participate in SCI Economic Summits by sending delegates to Fort Lauderdale.

• Shadow Cities: Establish further links between the following Quepos departments and their respective Fort Lauderdale counterparts in an effort to stimulate growth and enhance knowledge.

o Water Rescue
o Chamber of Commerce
o Library
o Humanitarian Associations

• Enhance Education: Seek out sister city schools abroad and establish liaisons in order to streamline support mechanisms between the schools.

• Continued Growth: Establish relationships in other cities throughout the world in order to continue mutual growth and understanding between Quepos and the global community.

• Support Funding: With the help of Mayor Oscar Monge and the Consejo Municipal, establish a local fundraising committee to help fund projects through the business community, the municipality and other sources.
